Previous project: The Foundation for Social Improvement
3FOUR50 is an awareness-raising, action based online social network aimed at preventing chronic disease. The name stands for '3' risk factors (tobacco use, poor diet, and lack of physical activity) which contribute to 'FOUR' major chronic diseases (heart disease, type 2 diabetes, lung disease, and many cancers), which are responsible for '50%' of deaths in the world. Since it's launch the website has attracted thousands of visitors interested in the issues surrounding chronic disease.
We developed an online social networking website which allows members to sign up and upload their own content to the website. This content includes photos, stories, blogs and showcases. The 'network' is a Flash based grid of all members and can be searched by keyword, name, and location. Members can contact each other through the network and collaborate on projects online. Each week news relating to chronic disease is filmed and streamed on the website and this is syndicated to other websites around the world.
